What Happens to Your Data When You Delete Your Account

A plain-language explanation of how PaceCount handles your data when you delete your account, including what is anonymized and what is kept.

When you delete your account, PaceCount doesn't simply erase everything instantly. Instead, we remove your personal information from the business's active portal while allowing the business to keep the limited records they are legally and operationally required to retain. This is a common and responsible approach that protects both your privacy and the business's legitimate recordkeeping needs.

What is removed right away

  • Your profile disappears from the business's customer list and portal.
  • You are signed out and can no longer log in to that portal.
  • Any active or upcoming appointments are canceled.

What is anonymized

Completed service history usually needs to stay on the business's books (for example, for warranty, accounting, or tax reasons). Rather than keep your personal details attached to those records, we anonymize them — your name, contact information, and other identifying details are scrubbed so the remaining record can no longer be tied back to you.

What may be retained

Some documents are kept where a business is required to retain them, such as:

  • Signed agreements or contracts, which may be retained for legal or compliance purposes.
  • Financial and transaction records, which businesses typically must keep for tax and accounting rules.

Where these are kept, we minimize the personal information they contain wherever possible.

Can it be undone?

For a short period after deletion, the business that managed your account may be able to restore a mistakenly deleted profile from their recycle bin. After that retention window passes, the anonymization becomes permanent.

Facebook login

If you signed in with Facebook, deleting your PaceCount profile does not automatically revoke Facebook's connection. See Remove Facebook Login Data for those steps.
