Connect Stripe to Take Payments
Connect your Stripe account so you can collect deposits and send invoices, and turn on the payment features you need.
Last updated July 16, 2026
Payments in PaceCount run through Stripe, so money goes directly to your own account — PaceCount never holds your funds. Deposits and invoicing are available on the Essentials and Pro plans.
Step 1 — Connect your Stripe account
- Open Settings → Payments.
- Start the guided Stripe onboarding and follow the prompts to verify your business.
- Your status moves from onboarding, to pending verification, to active. You can collect payments once it reads active.
Until your account is fully active, payment features stay off. This protects you and your customers from failed charges.
Step 2 — Turn on the payment features you need
Once connected, enable the pieces that fit your business from Settings → Payments:
- Deposits — collect a partial payment up front when a customer books.
- Invoicing — send invoices for completed work and track what's paid.
Learn the difference in Deposits and invoices.
Step 3 — Set your pricing
Add or adjust prices for your services in Settings → Services. Clear pricing makes deposits and invoices accurate and reduces back-and-forth with customers. See Set up service pricing.
Common questions
- Why can't I turn on deposits or invoicing? Your Stripe account is probably not fully active yet. Finish onboarding in Settings → Payments until the status reads active.
- Where does the money go? Directly to your connected Stripe account.
- Do I need payments to take bookings? No. You can run scheduling and intake without ever connecting Stripe. Add payments when you're ready to collect.
