Scheduling
Set Your Availability
The recommended way to control when customers can book you, from a simple solo setup to per-person schedules.
Last updated July 16, 2026
There are three layers of availability control. Most solo owners only need the first one. You can start simple and add more later — nothing here is required to take bookings.
Layer 1 — Working hours and blocked days (recommended for solo owners)
This is the simplest and fastest way to manage availability, and it works on every plan.
- Set your normal operating hours in Settings → Scheduling (your working-hours window and time zone). Customers are guided to request times inside these hours.
- Block off specific days you're unavailable — vacations, holidays, or personal days — from the Blackout Dates tab. Blocked days disappear from the customer's date picker automatically. See Block days off.
That's all a solo owner needs. Customers request a preferred date and time, and you confirm each one.
Layer 2 — Dynamic per-person schedules (Advanced Scheduling)
If you want a recurring weekly schedule with time off, or you have staff who each keep their own hours, turn on Advanced Scheduling (Pro plan) in Settings → Scheduling. You can then set weekly hours, time off, and limits for yourself or any team member. See Advanced scheduling overview.
Layer 3 — Show customers only times you're free (gated intake)
By default your Get Started page lets customers propose any open date, and you confirm it. If you'd rather the page only offer times someone can actually serve, turn on Gated availability for intake. This requires Advanced Scheduling with at least one person's weekly hours set. It stays request-then-confirm — gating never auto-books.
Which setup should I use?
- Solo, keep it simple: Layer 1 only — set working hours, block days off.
- Solo but want a real weekly schedule or time-off tracking: add Layer 2.
- Want customers to see only times you're genuinely free: add Layer 3 on top of Layer 2.
- You have staff: use Layer 2 to give each person their own hours; add Layer 3 to filter the intake page.
Common questions
- Does PaceCount book customers automatically? No. Every request is confirmed by you.
- I turned on Advanced Scheduling but nothing changed. You still need to enter weekly hours. An empty schedule means "fully available."
- I just need to close next week. Use the Blackout Dates tab — no need for Advanced Scheduling.
